    Question classic martial arts films

Wanna start collection of martial arts films and want some recommendations for some classic films(apart from bruce lee films which are a given anyway).

Films I want include some good samurai films and good martial arts films.

I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

Try Twin Warriors (i think) & pretty much any Jet Li film made before (& including) Kiss of the Dragon

If a man talks in a forest & there's no woman around....
    Is he STILL wrong?

ANYTHING by the Chan-Man... Drunken Master, with it's terrible English dubbing is my absolute favourite it's all about half a second out of sync... marvellous entertainment

Seconded- you can't really go wrong with any Jackie Chan film TBH. My two favourite fight scenes ever have got to be the pachinko parlour in Thunderbolt and the kids playground fight in Police Story 2.

Well obviously you have your bruce lee classics, get anything by Chan pre 1996 as thats when he starts doing comical crap, Once Upon a Time in China has been mentioned, get all three parts do not bother with the Once Upon a Time in America as its pants. Pedicab Driver is a good movie, Shogun assassin and then the other 7 baby cart movies. And I have to agree with Stoo, Zatoichi is a great movie, last samurai is a bit pants. This one is a must for any martial arts collection, The Story of Ricky-O absolutely blinding

Seven Samurai - The Daddy that spawned most of the Western(Cowboy) films.
Fist of Legend - A remake of a Bruce Lee film with Jet Li, which is just great.
Hitman, Black Mask - Jet Li, just good fun with some nice fights.
Once upon a Time in China (I/II/III) - Jet Li classic, I being the best.
Shaolin Temple - Jet Li in the film that started his career
The Legend of Fong Sai Yuk - Brilliant mix of arts and comedy for Jet Li
Iron Monkey - This is set before once upon a time and is very good, Donnie Yen is a master at kicks.
Police Story - One of Jackie Chan's best.
The Prodigal Son - One of my all time favorites, just a brilliant film.
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. - Reguardless of the arguements its still a great film to watch if you havent seen it.

Places on the web to look at:
http://www.hongkonglegends.co.uk/ The main UK suppilers Hong Kong Action Films.
    http://jetli.com/ Jet Li's Home page.

Sanjuro- absolute classic, Depth and story. Had me hooked 100% within minutes. its not the Martial Arts that does it...its the coolness of a real Samurai, the thinking and the personality.

Just seconding (or even thirding) a lot of opinions!
    Fist of Legend
Legend of Fong Sai Yuk (also called 'The Legend' I think)
Anything with Jackie Chan (except The Tuxedo was a bit pants)
    Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

Legend - Don't you just wish it had subtitles instead of that really awful dubbing?
