Didn't think it was that bad, 5/10 maybe, its a little predictable but can be quite suspensful at times.

hmmmm.....suspensefull. Yeah..maybe....but the entire story relies on us being scared of the colour red! ie it indicates "those who we do not speak of" and it attracts them.

The actual incarnation of "those who we do not speak of" was a little.....suprising.

The film is too clean, and sharp. Its all so new, and Shyamalam does love his colours, doesn't he? Peoples aura's have colours, the flags are coloured, the capes are coloured, the berry's are coloured.

It was like reading a comic....just not a very good one. There is no way I'd watch it again, not with quality like the Test Card on BBC2 to stare at

OK..being a bit harsh, and I cant discuss the story cos it will ruin it for anyone who wants to go.

If you are a 13 year old girl, sat with your mates, you will probably scream at the top of your lungs at several points

The 3 in front of me did. Pitifull....the rest of the audience was.....jumpy. And thats because the girls in front of me screamed SO LOUD! It wasn't the film.

I was not allowed to spray them with 7Up from my straw either

Frankly..it would have made my day, to watch them scream as my fizzy lemonade went all over them.

LOL, agreed I wouldn't watch it a second time round just though 3 was a little harsh.

The drama with the blind bird in the wood was pretty good.

Saw a feature on t.v about this and to be fair it looks cack, Shyamalam needs to change the mix slightly, films with lots of symbolism, inspiration from other source's and twists at the end are nice but they're beginning to grate with me slightly

Unbreakable was and still is his best work imo

Knox, do you mean that 'Buried secret' thing shown late the other night?

I quite like the look of the Village... the idea appeals, but thinking it through, once you've seen what the monsters are or the lad that sets off through the forest makes it, where would the film go after that?

Sure, I like some suspense, but suspense that gets me somewhere, not just visiting the same old plot device over and over.... Hark at me, talking meslf out of going to see it now!

    The Village - Hmmm 1/10

To be honest it's the biggest waste of 2 hours of my life. The plot seemed like it was taken from Star Trek! Poor, shabby and ultimatly quite hollow... VERY disappointed...

Talking about the plot will ruin it for anyone who may consider wanting to watch it (Poor fools). And I agree with you Knox, Unbreakable was the best he did...

Deckard is right, the IDEA is good, it just didn't work at all, which is a shame. I spent the first half thinking "what is the twist? We know the situation, so where is the suspense?" OK, there IS a bit of a twist but by the time you get to that point you're wondering whether you should pop out for a popcorn top up to keep yourself amused....

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.
