    Razorlight

Anyone got their album? Is it their first album? I’m ‘flyer’ing’ at there gig in Portsmouth soon, and I kind of like the single that is out at the mo, can’t think what it’s called? Can anyone remind me? I might order the album if it’s worth a listen?

If you're looking for something in that genre of music, then I prefer !!!. Their latest album, Now Louden Up, is pretty decent.

Got the album - thought it was good at first but I go off it more everytime I listen to it. (unlike various other stuff I've been listening to recently - hives (all good IMO), strokes (1st album good - 2nd one is crap), libertines (1st album is better, 2nd one still good)...

I thought it was an excellent album, i've been following their progress for a while and thought the finished product was very good, however, not a patch on their live performances

Saw Razorlight last night actually, was a good gig.

If you get the chance to see them live go for it.

i saw them on monday, i had a crew pass and got to mix it with the best of them

could have gone backstage afterwards, but it had all been said and done, while we stuck a 100 NME posters up before the gig - and i know knew the lead singer

    *restrains urge to rant*

They played brum last night I think, by all accounts it was a good gig, was sat in the pub watching a school burn at the time though so I wouldn't know

Razorlight at alot more polished now than in their early days, they got noticed by Colin & Edith (R1) and must have picked up some quality management soon after and the album is pretty well rounded.

I still prefer the older tracks on the album (To the Sea, Rock and Roll Lies) though, they can be a bit poppy and too easy to like.

i spoke with the tour manager (our boss) and he reckons they have got so much better since the tour started, i think they could go a longway, then again could go to pot! it's how you handle the fame and the money i guess!

Nah its how the record companies decide the next trends gonna go, atm that kinda stuff is really popular, but when a major company decides its time for a change then they all follow suit and it all but kills the genre..........who remembers nu-metal dying on its ass a couple of years back? Same thing tbh

The band may keep its hardcore fans but alot will just go with the flow.

yeah true, the same happened in the mid 90's with britpop, but out of the 'dying on it's ass' a few bands come through and change with the times... U2 being a master at this for 27 years

yeah there are bands that'll come through all the changes in fashion and stay strong, slayer have been doing it for over 2o years now aswell, unfortunatly alot of bands do slip back down into obscurity really before they're time because of the way the industry works
