when the uk record industry does this (well other than freedom fighters such as warp records), let me know

as it stands, they've deicded to go the mass sueing route. yay.

Just bought Walkie Talkie by Air, it is on here: http://www.ukcdr.org/issues/cd/bad/
as a bad disc, but the copy I bought from MVC is a genuine CD complete with logos on the packaging and disc. My one lacked the label that said "The new album by air...".
I'm just glad its a real CD and that I can support a band that I like to listen to (now with a clean conscience).

buy me another verifiable copy, mail it, i'll pay you back.

i'm sitting here in a 10,000 hz legend t-shirt i bought on the talkie walkie tour, and peeved that it was a corrupt disc release.

If you can check the inside of the case before buying, if it has a genuine compact disc logo its fine. I don't know when i will be next in Kirkcaldy, so it might be quicker if you find one on your travels.

Stupid technology anyway. It's not the small-time person who rips the CDs to his CD for listening to that damage the industry - it's the big-time pirates who make a million copies and sell them on.

All you need to do is get a CD player with optical output and a soundcard with optical input and away you go - CD copied.

If you can play it you can copy it.

agreed, if you go onto the market in town you can see about 5 stalls with dodgy looking guys selling copied dvd's, cd's, etc

EXACTLY my thoughts. The only way they'll stop music being copyable is to stop it being playable...

They're going about stopping piracy the wrong way altogether. I just wish I had a decent alternative to suggest.
