    nice setup.

Is that in front of your lounge window? What if the local Barry walks past and see's all that lovely equipment?

The TV is superb quality. It's 10 years old almost but the quality is still absolutely brilliant. Sharp pictures, everything. Only possible drawback about it is that it's not widescreen.

Dont mean to have a dig Howard but surely that tv must be letting your system down mate. Its a bit of a mismatch. You have spent a fiar bit on very nice surround sound system and then you miss out on the now essential widescreen viewing. Is lack of cash a problem? I got my 28"ws tv from index for a shade over £200 and the pic quality is easily as good as my old panasonic tv.

    Built the sub myself (almost).

The TV is only letting my system down in the widescreen department, yes. The picture quality is just as good.
Thing is, my room isn't nearly as big as a lounge, and a 24" 4:3 TV still looks pretty big in my room.

If I was buying a widescreen TV I wouldn't pay any less than about £5-600, therefore not really being able to afford one.
The rest of my system cost less than you might think.

Edit: Don't worry about "having a dig", that's what constructive criticism is all about

    dude, £5-600?

thats well beyond your requirements, at that kinda price range your going into 100hz and fst territory, if your room is as small as you say it is then a £600 widescreen will go to waste. If you had your setup in a bigger room i could understand , but i think your speccing up a t.v thats well beyond your requirements here.

£500 will get me a modest TV. If I was buying a widescreen one I'd want 100Hz and flat screen. It doesn't matter about the size of the room. And it's not a small bedroom anyway. About 3.3 x 3.9 Metres.

I'd probably buy a reasonable Toshiba or Panasonic set if I was. I love Panasonic TVs.

    Widescreen TV next?

    Panasonic 32" Flat TAU 100Hz = £1000 ish

EDIT: I have the Panasonic 28" TAU Flat 50Hz in my bedroom and its got a great image... im not that fussed over 100Hz... its like an extra £150-£200.

not worth it... not on a 28" anywayz, on a 32/36" + then yes get 100Hz.
