| Clearly and easily the HD3 is the best ![]() HD1 = not true MP3 player, converts to atrac before tranfer HD3 = native MP3 support, plug&play, other tweaks But thats not to say they are not without their faults |

| Marcos, the firmware update is out soon for the hd1 to support mp3. i wud also like to point out that the hd3 has a drm layer for the mp3's so you can not copy them to another machine, only the pc the software is on and to the player that is it. |

| If it's the same as the DRM on the Sony Hi-Fi MP3 player it also moves the files rather than copying them. So you have either on your PC OR your MP3 player, not both. | Junior Senior Member | The Sony mp3 players are an absolute farce. In terms of hardware, they're actually pretty hot but the software is a BIG let down. Sony makes the hardware, but Sony also produces music. There's a serious conflict of interests there, which leads some mind-boggling DRM restrictions with the software. I'd stay well clear personally. There's few HD-based players that are worse, in my opinion. |
