    bulk convert mp3

    hey guys -
I've got most of my MP3 collection at 320k, but as a result can't fit all of it onto my ipod -
what's the best free utility to down-convert it to 196k? (i..e dump into a seperate folder and maintain my high-quality rips)

    cheers,

    scotty

foobar2000 and lame. you will lose quality transcoding though, so i'd re-rip from your cds.

that or next time you rip all your cds to your hard drive, use a lossless format like flac, ape or apple lossless. that way you can convert these formats into any other format without losing quality.
