    mpeg movie file --> divx-->DVD?

    I did not know which forum to post this in but here it goes. I have several videos that play on winamp and divx how would I go about putting these on a DVD that will play in a home DVD player? I assume i will have to convert to a certain file format or something. If you could provide me with a good source of information to help me out that would be great too.

    Thanks,

    Lexx

    IIRC Mpeg files don't need to have as much lengthy conversion done to be burnt onto DVD as AVI files and the like, so grab yourself some DVD Authoring software (www.doom9.org and www.dvdrhelp.com) are great sites which can help

    there are some dvd players that will play not only ture-dvd's but also

    mpeg files from a directory on dvd recordables
    divx files from a directory on dvd recordables.

    cheaper than the time taken to convert files to a format a true dvd player will play.

    another solution , one i use , is to buy a neuston mc-500 and connect it to your pc/mac and your tv.
    you can then play files from your pc/mac on your tv with only a cat5 network cable between the units.

    most media files can be played by the neuston.

    I use Nerovision Express to convert mpg and avi files. Just open the files into it and NERO does it for you, will create a proper DVD that will play on all DVD players. If you have enough space you can add a few files but make sure that you dont encode it and further than long play as if you do it looks really pixelated
