    PC -> TV

    Im looking for cheapest/easiest/non-hassle way of connecting my PC (with 9800 AIW) to my TV for perfect picture quality.

    Ive tried SVideo to SVideo and the quality is poor, unreadable text, blurry images etc... there must be a way to have perfect output on a TV

    but how...

    tvs do not have very good quality, which is why pc monitors cost more. the best way is to connect a tv via component video (available on some ati cards i think) but still, the quality is only up to your telly. good for films, naff for browsing etc

    You could try using a low resolution such as 640 x 480 or 800 x 600
    You could also try one of these but it may not be any any different to just svideo.

    You will never get unblurred txt on a standard CRT TV. They are simply not designed for the output from your PC.

    LCD TVs are different obviously.

    Theo's system
    The media center operating systems (knoppmyth, XPMCE etc) usually have larger, thicker, rounder text, and less of it on the screen at one time. Whereas, say you're running XP pro on a HTPC, the text is often smaller, finer and there's often a lot to read (browsing in windows explorer, for example).

    A simple way of making text more visible is right clicking on the desktop, opening properties, appearance tab. Increase text size to quite large (can't remember the setting I used), change font to arial, embolden it. Also have a play around with colour schemes. White on royal blue or black is far easier to read on a CRT television than black on white.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    You could try this:

    Better than SVideo, but it's never going to look "perfect"

    Now go away before I taunt you a second time.
