    I'm in same boat.

Can't decide between the Nortek one @scan or the TOSHIBA SD-350

I have the Pioneer 575 as wel as Howard and can vouch for its genral good-ness - I haven't tried DivX (if I want a film I just get the DVD of it - I tend to only really like DVD quality and 5.1 sound etc) but as a normal DVD player (or DVD-A or SACD or just CD) it really is a good DVD player. If you're going to be plugging it into any kind of amp/surround sound receiver then I'd get the Pioneer, otherwise I'd get the Toshiba 350. IMHO.

Oh yeah, and avoid pixmania. I ordered something from there with 24 hour delivery, still haven't received either it or a single e-mail regarding the ones I sent them over a month and a half now - had to cancel it on the CC. Worst cutomer services ever!

Just been reading some more the Scan one does play DVD+R as well which is handy. I don't think the Tosh / Pioneer does.

Taz are you happy with yours ?

How have you found the player? At present, I just use a networked PC, but it's a bit bulky... Nice not to have to burn stuff to disk though.
