yeah no problem, can't remember how exactly, but i backed up all the music that came with the player "just in case" for some strange reason. I've only ever used the Java applet accross the network, never the USB cable.

My karma died the other day after only having used it for 4 months! I hate Rio and they have made the ****tiest mp3 players i have ever used in my life. I couldnt send it back becuase i had to open the player up before to clip back in a button that fell out! while using it and i didnt want to have to wait 4 months for a repleacement. Seriously i will never buy from them again. Hard drive jsut decides one day in the middle of a song that it no longer wants to work. From now on ill stick with I-River. Least i can rely on their players.

From what I've gathered, the Karma is a great player (though limited capacity now). It did unfortunately suffer from quality issue (mainly dying hard disks).

There is a site out there for troubleshooting Karmas. There are some pretty extreme suggestions that apparently worked for some people. Can't seem to find the site anymore though, I didn't have it bookmarked. But it is probably still there, since it wasn't an official site.
