    Losing volume?

Now, I've had my speakers for about 4 years now (looking to replace) and recently I've been pushing them to the maximum volume they go to more and more. And now that I have them back to what I normally had them at before, they seem a lot quieter.

Is it possible for speakers to get quieter, or am I going deaf? :/

If you've been thrashing them you could have burnt out a coil. That might not be obvious if they're multi driver speakers.

If not, then it is likely to just be that your perception of them has changed.

Eh? You mean you have to wind the volume further up in order to get the same volume?

    What speakers?

If you've been playing loud music for a while, turn it down and it will seem quiet until your ears adjust

Yeah, that's what it seems like.

They're these old things. Suprised I found a page on them really.

I know about ears adjusting, it's generally, like, they seem quieter without having had them really loud 10 minutes before.

And Rave, I'm not too bothered about them breaking anymore, I mean, it'd be a pain, but it's a damn good excuse to go splash out on some new ones .

    Cheers guys
