Connecting my PC & Xbox to an HDTV I've recently decided to go the HD route, and after a few online reviews I've decided to go for the new Sagem HD-45H G4-T. However, being new to HD screens I'm not sure the cables I'll need to hook things up to make the best use of the tv. Connections wise it's got: 3 Scart sockets (RGB/Comp/S-Video,Audio) • AV4, S-Video input (Mini Din 4-pin) Video composite input (1xRCA), Audio input (2xRCA) • AV 5 (progressive or interlaced: automatic detection): Input Y,Pr,Pb (3xRCA), Audio unpit (2xRCA) • HDMI1 input (HDCP copy protection management) • HDMI2 input (HDCP copy protection management) Audio input (2xRCA) • PC1, VGA Computer input (subD-15-pin) Audio input (jack 3.5) • Audio Connectivity: HiFi output (2xRCA) • SPDIF in/out (2xRCA) I've got an Xbox with a 3rd party VGA box which upscales to 480p, 720p and 1080i, so I obviously want to make use of that. I also want to connect my PC to it, as I know it will be able to play HD content. The VGA box (Neogya X2VGA+) has a Dsub out, and the PC graphics card is dual DVI, so does that mean I should use a Dsub to HDMI for the Xbox and a DVI to HDCP DVI cable for the PC? Or should the PC be connected via the PC socket on the Sagem. Or should they both go the HDMI sockets? I really have no idea, so any assistance with the cables and where I can get them would be a great benefit. Thanks.

not all screens will work with a DVI-to-HDMI cable and you certainly can't go from VGA to HDMI personally, i'd ditch the VGA box (your TV will do a better job), and connect the xbox with an RGB scart lead - as for the PC, if the screen can cope with DVI-to-HDMI (mine can't) then go for it

Thanks for the replies guys. In response to 5lab, no chance of me getting a 360 - I don't game on my xbox, I sue it as a media centre with a 160gb HDD, so I don't see the point in getting a 360 when I only play pc games. Besides, I can't really afford one after buying the telly. So, am I right in thinking that as long as my source is set to display HDTV resolutions (as in the xbox dasboard and the 2nd monitor settings in my 6800GT) the cable connection to the actual TV shouldn't matter? The reason I'd mentioned connecting them both to HDMI above is that I thought it had to be an HDMI connection to get HDTV res. Cheers for any more help you can offer.
