| Loves duck, Peking Duck! | Howard, oh ok... Interestingly my tiny ASW675 is 500W RMS rated, I got it @ -10dB atm, to prevent it rattling like mad when playing Massive Attack at near reference (Angel, Dissolved Girl, etc)... I guess the floor standers (604S3s) also add some bass to the mix. Another shot I took a while ago, more or less the same now but Silent Bob is back in the cupboard... ![]() Cheers Rolex: DateJust (Z/116201) with Pink Diamond Dial / Montblanc: '80s 149 14C (F), UNICEF 'Helmut Jahn' 149 (M), 149 (OBB), 149 (B), George Bernard Shaw WE (B), F. | Little sealed subs like that need more power to make the equivalent noise though ![]() Nice setup, hide the wires and amps and UPS' please Home cinema: Toshiba 42XV555DB Full HD LCD | Onkyo TX-SR705 | NAD C352 | Monitor Audio Bronze B2 | Monitor Audio Bronze C | Monitor Audio Bronze BFX | Yamaha NSC120 | BK Monolith sub | Toshiba HD-EP35 HD-DVD | Samsung BD-P1400 BluRay Player | Pioneer DV-575 | Squeezebox3 | Virgin Media V+ Box PC: Asus P5B | Core2duo 2.13GHz | 2GB DDR2 PC6400 | Inno3d iChill 7900GS | Auzentech X-Plosion 7.1 | 250GB | 500GB | NEC DVDRW | Dual AG Neovo 19" HTPC: | Core2Duo E6420 2.13GHz | 2GB DDR2 | 250GBx2 | Radeon X1300 | Terratec Aureon 7.1 | Windows MCE 2005 Laptop: 1.5GHz Centrino | 512MB | 60GB | 15" Wide TFT | Wifi | DVDRW |

| Loves duck, Peking Duck! | True! Bah...I ended setting it up with minimal component to component cabling. If I went for a fully 'stealthy' set up it would involve more cabling and I always feel that less is more. That said, this is *NOT* the final intended room for this setup, and is temporary for the next few years until I get off my bum and design a new HT room with the architect. This is currently in 3.1 mode lol. Everything is placed for optimal 'accessibility' but isn't the most pleasing to the eye. Turn the lights off an it doesn't matter though hehe. I would like to one day replace the three UPSses with a huge isolation transformer but the heat and cooling it would need would be fairly ridiculous maybe. Cheers ![]() Update: I could move the UPSes oto the left, hiding them behind the left floor stander, as the huge DVD cabinet on the left creates a space suitable for this. Moving the amps is near impossible due to the cable lengths involved/required, so any funky ideas for sealing off the bottom part of the h000j console table? I could look into having a wooden 'frame' made that will sit inside, covering up the amps etc, or have two doors fitted? I'll still leave the sides open as that provides ample ventilation for the amps... The same analagy can be used with cars (albeit somewhat vice-versa) whereby a particular engine will allow a small car to go faster than the same engine in a car twice as long and heavy. | Loves duck, Peking Duck! | Aye, iirc this B&W is tuned to 20Hz and any lower the distortion isn't exactly 'minimal'. Having a large vented sub like yours would do a much better job...but...needs room. Anyone here tried placing their subs in various room locations, or did you just pick one spot and 'go' with it? | Right here is my system, wires are a little messy behind it but that is because they are so long and I really don't want to cut them! I will try and get a better, less dark photo at some point, problem is our living room is very dark generally ![]() If quizzes are quizzical, what are tests? |

Not in pic Velodyne Deco speaker system (in a 6.1 configuration) Sanyo Z3 LCD Projector For more pics & info have a look at my site www.grimleyplex.net so take a look! here's the inside of the HTPC ![]() The HTPC is now the source for playing back DVD, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, Freeview & Freesat/HD stuff, as well as HD files from the web (when I can be arsed)! The gaming rig is for general use too. I named it W.O.P.R. after the Computer in a film called ‘Wargames' (My eldest nephew suggested I gave it a name, so I humoured him!) | Yep! I am still not 100% on all of the tech though. Once work quietens down after the 26th I will tweak my setup a touch. I will also install my speaker wire once the stitches in my shoulder are out! 14 stitches from coming off my mountain bike! |

| Loves duck, Peking Duck! | I got a scare last week with the Denon 3rd link...simple re-enable in the DVD player and it's back fine... very odd, first 'glitch' in a year so nm. Thinking of having a teak frame made with two doors attached (wooden) prolly be as huge as Menthel's (the doors) and attach to the front of the console table so that it gets closed/stealthed....the sides would be open for air circulation, and if I want these closed it can be two 'reverse' hinged doors that can be added later. This way the console table is not 'altered' and the frame will blend in perfectly.... =) Rolex: DateJust (Z/116201) with Pink Diamond Dial / Montblanc: '80s 149 14C (F), UNICEF 'Helmut Jahn' 149 (M), 149 (OBB), 149 (B), George Bernard Shaw WE (B), F.
