| Anyone know of some decent, but not too expensive, powered speakers? I stream my music from my PC to my PDA and would like some powered speakers for use in the garden. Nothing too big or expensive, but reasonable sounding. Although i still will do for the occational party/BBQ, dragging one of my decent AMP's/Speakers outside it a bit of a pain. Just someting that sounds good, but would be easy to take inside/outside on a regular(ish) basis. Rechargable would also be a bonus. Any idea's? |

| Sorry to bump this up again, but i'm still looking. A ghettoblaster is a nice idea, but you really need to get the speakers further apart for a decent sound stage. I also dont want to be paying for extra's a dont need. |

| If you just want noise get something like Logitech or Creative speakers. Speakers designed as cheaper monitors wouldn't really be ideal as they have a flat response and so genreally don't give the impression of being as loud as home speakers. | When you say powered, do you mean mains or battery, if you're using it outside? I got a pair of Videologic Sirocco Spirit speakers about 6 years ago for £140 - they still work and I still think they sound great - not as good as separates, but actually not that far off. They are mains only, but pop up on eBay and AVForums for not very much every now and again... |

| For the money (around £75 - £100) these are really good, heard them in a large hifi shop and the sound is detailed with good controlled bass. The only way to get a good bottom end is to have either large cabinets or a subwoofer. Only drawback is they are mains powered only. |
