| HDTV - one resolution for all? Hi, Apologies if this has been asked many times before, but with the advent of HDTV, are there seperate versions for PAL and NTSC, or is HDTV a worldwide thing? | The frame rate is also different. 25 or 50Hz in europe, 30 or 60 in the states. If the signal is transmited over analoge then there are dozens of formats with different amounts of blanking and spare lines, different sync pulses etc. |

| I know. I can understand why NTSC and PAL had different frequencies in the past, but not now. Itæs not like we are constrained by the mains electrical frequency these days. |
