    Angry God damn n00bs

Something that has resently come to my attension that has stressed me quite a fair bit.

Walking around college i notice that many people are wearing AFI hoodys. I ask a few of them if they know What AFI stands for (being quite a big fan myself and actually knowing the answer) not a single one of 'em had a clue. Is it just me or does tis pee any one else off?

oh and does any one here know what it does mean i just want to know if anyone does.

    A fire inside?

    why?

Is it similar to bloody BURBERRY.....a design of plaid for 80 year old ladies , and worn by fools ?

Am I on the right track?

That is really moronic coming from someone that is 17 going on 18 themselves.

Why not try to grow up and possibly get through puberty before you start coming on here and pitching a fit about other people ? You have hardly been around the block yourself and I very much doubt that you have actually seen some of the really big bands like Metallica in concert at places Donnigton and also Milton Keynes in 92.

    How is it moronic?

Because i havn't seen them in concert i can have no opinion of them? maybe the fact that i was less than 10 years old at the time stopped me, it doesn't meen i don't appreciate and prefer the older stuff.

The reason that people wearing mettalica hoodies annoy me is because if you go and ask them what they're favourite album is "st anger man!" how many other albums of theres have you listened to "they have other albums??"

Band hoodies in general just annoy me because i don;t feel the need to spend £25 to tell everyone what band i like as i walk past them.

Not saying you don't appreciate Tallica Knox,

But its the mentality of shouting out to everyone how much you dislike people that wear band merchandise and havn't got a clue apparently, doesn't that make the person bitching about it in the first place equally as bad if not worse ?

Kinda like when you are out on the beer and the scallies (townies) start shouting abuse at you cos you're dressed in alternative gear, personally I just look at them and laugh to myself not lowering myself to their level as I normally dress in dark gear with bomber jacket (old school Skins and Mod style)

Yes, but the fact isn't critisizing people for what they wear because of what it is, or the fact they they are not hardcore and not been into them for years, its the fact that they have no idea what it is. Even if you dont think it is stupid, it still doesn't make sense.

    I concur

I don't see the point... I like the music because I like it, not just because I want to show it off to people.

And yes AFI stands for A Fire Inside.

    Excellent band tbh.

What bloody irritates me is seeing trendy people wearing AC/DC and Motorhead T-shirts, - I see them hanging up in Top Shop when my Missus drags me kicking and screaming shopping - like they could name a single bloody track by either of them

now Skii has a further point here....building on the whole thing.

People dont know what or who.....but cos of programs like The Osbournes (fair play to OZ for this one) it is now looked on as a "quaint bit of rock history"

Which it aint....."Metal" is and always was, scary to the people who are now wearing the logos.

Lemmy at his best, Angus strutting his stuff, and Alice Cooper even, back then, were TERRIFYING to these people....and now they have the AUDACITY to wear the logos.

So, in all I agree with all of ya.

I stil hate Burberry more tho

    (shudders at image of burberry)

Ive never understood the trend with black hoodies, personally I just tend to buy t-shirst at gigs, however im very tempted to get the Joy Division 'Unknown Pleasures' logo on a black hoody just to get a load of clueless looks.

AFI are alright, and ive noticed a sudden jump in their popularity down here as well.

They annoy me too, but I do not have a plausible reason for it - it just bugs me when I see music-affiliated wear in general!

Though I do like Event-wear, it can be a nice ice-breaker going up to someone "I was there too!"

or in my case "my mate lost my tickets to that!"

I think I saw AFI before they even released a song or anything. They were supporting Offspring years ago.

Anyway, I don't have a problem with it. Maybe coz i dont listen to that music? People can wear what they want! When I was 12 I had a Blink 182 hoody and thought it was cool. I wore it not because I wanted people to know what band I liked, I wore it because I thought it was fashionable. People can wear what they want, why should they been insulted for it? Now I just wear jeans and t-shirts and jackets, more townie or 'indie' as my sister would say as I used to be.Why should people be branded anyway?

Woah! That was off topic! I think saying "God damn n00bs" is stupid! St Anger will have brought a whole new generation to Metallica, surely you should be happy about that instead of calling them noobs.

what a stupid thing to say.
