    Samsung USA launching Blu-ray player June 25; UK must wait until Q4

    Samsung's first Blu-ray Disc player, the BD-P1000, goes on sale in the USA on June 25 at $1,000 and will be introduced into the UK in Q4, price as yet unknown.

    £900 seems a WEE bit too excessive don't you think?

    My XPS 16 = fail

    Yeah £1000 does seem a bit steep, but I reckon the price may drop as more competitors enter the market.

    For anyone considering buying one of these - here is a list of the titles planned/released so far:

    I'd put money on it being sold at around 899 like Stoo said. We pay much more than the Americans do for electronics, and there isn't even a good reason

    Cos we're daft enough to pay the price.

    VAT helps, though, to further uneven the odds.
