I'll jump on the bandwagon and post my setup then!

Seeing as Alex and Mike have already done so

You've probably seen most of it before, I just thought I'd post an updated as-of-now thread.
I'm in the process of upgrading the "hifi" Music section of it as it happens... I'm borrowing a Squeezebox1 (pictured) and I've decided I'm going to buy myself a brand new Squeezebox3, probably later this week. The Squeezebox 2/3 have upgraded DACs so should be interesting if I notice the difference

I'm also going to buy myself a seperate integrated amp (and maybe add a matching power amp in the future for biamping) and power my main front speakers with this... The idea being I keep the "hifi" bit simple for music from the squeezebox, not involving my surround receiver. This should offer an improvement of quality over using the receiver amp. I'm currently leaning towards a NAD C320BEE or C325BEE. Probably the former, or maybe a C352 if I can afford the extra at the time

So yeah.. My system at the moment consists of:

    Yamaha RXV650 7.1 Receiver
    Pioneer DV575 DVD Player
    Humax PVR8000T Freeview PVR
    Squeezebox
    Monitor Audio Bronze B2 mains
    Monitor Audio Bronze Centre
    Eltax HT2 Micro rears
    Yamaha NSC120 Centre rear
Alesis 150watt Power amp and my home-made 12" subwoofer

    Toshiba 28Z-something-or-other 100Hz flat 28" telly

    Pictar:

    Nice setup

The 320 BEE is quite a nice piece of kit - I used to have one. Very nice sound and was great value.

    Nice AV rig!

Do update us on how the Squeezebox 3 sounds - been thinking of getting one for a while... just wish it was less than 200 notes!

What speaker stands & cable are you using?

Why are you after the SB3? Is that not an HTPC in the pic, bottom right of the shelving system?

Yes but it's slow, noisy and knackered. It was a nice project/experiment, but it doesn't work very well. Lol.

I have an SB3 in the living room (and one in the bedroom) but also want an HTPC or something similar, the two are not mutually exclusive. the SB doesn't need a TV to be on to use it. Thats a big bonus when you are talking about a 42" plasma. SB3 is also silent, low power consumption and has a great screen.

Well my Squeezebox3 arrived this morning and I can say I'm rather impressed.

    A) It looks beautiful... Really well designed and made
    B) It sounds noticeably better than the original SB1, there's slightly more detail and "richness" in the sound. Very good Must be down to the Burr Brown DACs

Sounds very good through my system.. Very good. Just not sure on placement yet... It looks a bit forlorn on a shelf all by itself!
