    Macross / Robotech

I grew up as a kid watching the Robotech series by Harmony Gold. Even today the cool story line, the characters, music & battles impress me.
Last week I bought Macross Plus the Movie & Episodes DVD, Macross 2, & Ghost in the Shell.
Even though their animation & visuals were superior to the older Robotech, their story, music & action did not impress as much as the original Robotech series.
I was thinking about getting Robotech Sentinels & Gundam Endless Waltz, but now I’m not sure if I will like them either and I don’t want to go out and waste money.
    Any opinions?

What’s the best site to find out about all the Robotech / Macross movies, in existence?
The ones I know of are:

Original Robotech Series – Harmony Gold – 1984 I think?
    Robotech Sentinels
    Macross
    Macross 2
    Macross Plus Movie
    Macross Plus Episodes

Does Gundam - Endless Waltz movie DVD, feature the cool soundtrack Gundam – Rhythm Emotion that you can hear in the intro of Gundam - Endless Duel game on the SNES? It sucks that they removed it from the 2 PSX versions of the game.

Any answers to my queries will be appreciated
    Thanks in Advance.

Ive yet to get Macross 2 but ive got the Macross Plus and Macross Movie on DVD box set from HMV and they are *superb*. The movie is just a non-digitally enhanced and slightly cut version of the series though. Ghost in the Shell is a timeless classic, if you like that you will *LOVE* the TV series which is about 5 years newer although isnt out on DVD in the west yet but you can get fansubs to tide you over.

I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!

The Ghost in the Shell Special Edition DVD is about to be launched here in the UK. It is by far one of the definitive Animes to watch (imo).

How long is the Ghost in the Shell episodes? Ive got some to watch, but I dont really want to start watching it and realise I havent got the rest. . . Ive got 19?

I think that GITS was a bit too over rated, it was good, but not that good. Episodes however are good (my opinions here ppl). I think there are something like 30 or so eps (not all availble on divx yet), maybe more or less i was reading on some anime site. If i come across it again ill post it.

the macross 2 movie (think its known an super dimensional fortress macross in english) is terrible in my opinion, its prety boring and a love story, plus the ending is imho, one of the worst endings to any film ever.

    steer clear of this one

26 in all for the first series, but they stopped fansubbing them after 22, although i managed to get the dvd of 23-26 but the subs arent as good. A few months back they were given the go to make a 2nd series after ghost in the shell 2 is released too.

Ahh crap, and I started to watch this last night too. Watched the first 4 - thankfully they're seperate episodes though, so I guess I can live with that. If each episode continued from the last I would've been devastated if I couldnt get hold of the last fansubbed ones.

Not really, up towards the end they kinda explain everything about the whole stand alone complex scenario and micromachine industries and the corruption in power and disease etc. It gets VERY powerful (i ended up shouting at the computer cause i fancy the major ) towards the end.
