    iPod dock

    Hi All,
So I'm looking for a sound dock for my iPod nano. The Bose dock has got mixed reviews and it's waaay expensive. Can anyone recommend a decent dock? Is the Bose worth it?

"No Bose item is worth the cost." you mean Funkstar? (otherwise it can be read two ways - no (the) bose is worth the cost or the way you intended )*

How about getting the official dock & a stereo?

EDIT - *not intending to nit pick - it just threw me and had to read it a couple of times to get what I assume was the correct meaning

if i had meant the latter interpretation, i would have written "no, Bose is worth the cost"

but I'll clarify my position anyway

Bose = overpriced, out of date and falsely marketed rubbish

    hows that?

If you want the best quality, you need a very expensive piece of kit - a 3.5mm to phono cable to plug into your hi-fi(about £10ish for a decent one). It will always sound better than a dock(plus one less power point to find).

I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

    Starbuck,
That would be great except for the fact that I have no other stereo gear, so by the time I buy a decent amp for a couple of hundred, a decent set of speakers for a couple of hundred and a base for the nano (around 20-30 quid) I'm way over the price for even the Bose unit.

Does anyone actually have a sound dock they can recommend?

    Cheers...

    Tom

sorry, can't help at all with the dock....but....

    Eltax stereo amp - £50
    http://www.richersounds.com/showprod...pid=ELTA-AMP70

    Gale 3010 seakers - £50
    http://www.richersounds.com/showprod...GALE-3010S-BCH

add at 3.5mm stereo to phono cable and that will be far better than any iPod dock for the same price

Go for Harmon Soundsticks with a ac adapter charging the iPod while it plays through the soundsticks. Quality is better than any docking station.

If you want Soundsticks, do NOT pay £140 for them. they really aren't worth it. I have a pair i got for under £100 from eBuyer. They aren't realy worth that even, but i wanted them for their looks.
