Thumbs up New Quality USB DAC (upto 24/92) available

EDIT: Apparently the full price is £102 so I have cancelled my order (hopefully).

    Hi there

No I am not making this Just stumbled upon it on reddit. Looks very interesting and great performance for the price. I have ordered mine already - £60 preorder price, expected some time in may, free delivery.

I think there is no case which is a bit of a bummer but the quality looks good and a lot of thought has gone into the design. I think I will find some good use for it!

Any thoughts on this? I have high hopes. I will probably use it at work mainly where my great headphones are let down by Dell onboard audio...

Have you look at some of the Tripath based DACs on Ebay?? There are plenty which are well under £100 delivered and they come with a case too.

I thought tripath was a set of amp chips? I was actually looking at getting

Would make a nice match for the above dac.

p.s uk link for the dac http://epiphany-acoustics.co.uk/ looks like they are putting it in their own nice looking enclosures

    I thought so too.

I currently have the Topping TP20 amp hooked up to my laptop docking station (sans DAC so to speak) powering Cambridge Audio S30 speakers I bought from the Hexus classfields not long ago, I prefer the Topping over the SMSL but I'm not audiophile enough to describe why.

I've got a FiiO E10 myself and it's pretty decent. I guess this will be a notch higher than the E10. Personally I'd prefer the E10 as it costs the same price but it's "end user ready".

If they can have a version with a half decent case for less than £10 I think it'd sell well.

It looks like they are offering the bare board to DIYers for £60ish, then a finished product to the mass market for £100ish?

Depends really if the case is to your liking and whether you can do any better for less than £40. Still, up against the competition's pricing, if it does what it says, it is still a veritable bargain...

Looking at the specifcations it does look quite a decent DAC chip which they are using. The chap also mentions he is working on a combined DAC and headphone amplifier too.

I wonder how well the DAC will match with my MF X-Cans or Little Dot II?? OTH,since I use a pair of SR125 headphones driving them should not be an issue.
