Sound bar or powered speakers for small LED telly

Hi All,
Just bought a 22" LED TV for the kitchen, and as expected, the sound from the built in speakers is rubbish. Can anyone recommend a cheapy soundbar or set of powered 2.0 speakers I can clip next to it? It doesn't have to be super hi-fidelity, but the ones in the tv are really tinny, and have no mid/bass at all.

I got some improvement with cheap PC speakers - about £15 IIRC. Plugged them into the headphone socket as the easy way.
Any soundbar will be longer than the telly and a cheap one won't be much better than cheap, active speakers.

Any idea how much you'd like to spend? Are you fussed about colour and whether they match your new TV?

powered speakers would be better than a sound bar, a sound bar is just a few more thin poor quality speakers that the TV has already.

depending on your TVs outputs will depend what you can connect to. the headphone outs are usually quite poor, but still a stepup from the internal speakers.
If you do have stereo phono out connecting this to a cheap stereo amp and a couple of bookshelf speakers would really improve the sound.

All really depends on how much you want to spend and the exact model of your TV
