Now my Plantronics USB headset mic appears to of died Looking for a new gaming headset!

Any recommendations? No behind the neck jobbies. And for around 25-30 quid.

Now I have a onboard sound from my Z77 D3H gigabyte board so not sure if it's brilliant but probably fine for me not a audio buff really but can be usb as I never had problems until now with this set.

Funny you should ask this - I just got this offer in an email today:

Was thinking about buying a pair myself. Seems like a good deal.

    Re: Gaming Headsets

    @Zak33

I used to have that exact same set up, and whilst I agree its a great set up to do on the cheap, theres on annoying thing about it. You can't hear yourself talk when you're gaming and chatting to people, so you don't know how loud you are. Eventually I got sick of not hearing myself, and got some turtle beach's!

I have a set of the Plantronics DSP400's
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_...dsp400&x=0&y=0

and love them because they are really light, don't encase the ears which I find annoying after a while and have fantastic sound and no need for a sound card in your pc.....bargain!!

How about trying the Creative HS800 Fatal1ty it's a simple, but good quality headset.

    Re: Gaming Headsets

I've got a steelseries 4h, mainly as a cheap pair for when I can't use my speakers, but they massively impressed me, very comfortable and they sound fine on my onboard audio.

Sharkoon X-tatic 5.1 gets my vote. I got given a set and loved it since day 1.

I can't listen to music on my PC or play games without them at the moment. The only downside is wearing the headset and nvidia 3D glasses can be a bit tricky at times.

I've also used them plugged into the SPDIF on the sky box watching sky arts and the live gigs they broadcast

lol most headsets at that price range are good, but you have completely ignored the budget requirement

These are a great pair of headsets, don't know if these are the ones you had before but they are really good.

    Re: Gaming Headsets

Quality for Cash wise: You're FAR better off buying some decent headphones and a separate microphone. Personally I go for Sennheiser Headphones, maybe a Logitech microphone.
