Nope. When an Analogue to digital conversion takes place, it's better to use sample and hold - rather than continuously changing the voltage. AD conversion does require a steady voltage - hence sample and hold is used. When the sample as finished, the voltage is dropped - but with sample and hold, when it finishes the sample - it smooths the voltage over rather than dropping it
