What's your opinion of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo?

They've launched a hatchback with a special bootlid and reclining rear seats...

what do you think of it?

I think that is hideous.... really really hideous

Your right. They've destroyed the "I'm bigger, better and more bad-ass in my M5" look - sad face.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Look on the bright side - it looks better than the horrific X6 'thing'.... can't even bring myself to call it a car

Re: What's your opinion of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo?

I can't afford one so it is crap!!

The card does look small for a 5 series BMW though!!

The rear section of the car reminds of both the Honda Insight and Toyota Prius for some reason!!

Hmmm, looks like an X6 with a lower ride height, not a fan...
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Saw one today on the road and it looks even worse in real life than it does in photos.

I want to know how a designer can look back at his work and go 'Looks good' when there must have been people around him saying it looks rubbish.

Re: What's your opinion of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo?

Similar driving position to that in an X model, Load capacity of a 5 series touring, build quality of a 7 series. But in a 'socially accaptable' package. It is a big car, bigger than it looks in the pictures, and more handsome in the flesh. But I do agree that the design is a little different to the current 5 series, and will be a grower.

Yeah it's ugly but in a utilitarian kind of way which kind of exempts it - and it's an MPV after all - name a good looking one!

Re: What's your opinion of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo?

It's based on a 7-series chassis, it apparently has as much interior space as a 7 series and the boot's as big. It comes with air suspension as standard- optional on the 7- and it's about 15 grand cheaper.

True, it's not a handsome car, but I'll be looking in Autotrader in a few years time I think.

Re: What's your opinion of the BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo?

I also actually prefer the Mondeo to the 5 series. Iv not been overly impressed with BMWs design for a while now if im quite honest. Much prefer Audi, VW and Honda.

Subaru is another one wo have messed up a good design

    I mean wtf?
