Bladdy Car!!! grrr

The paint on the wiper arms is flaking off so i've decided to buy some satin black paint....

Got the paint... got the tools.... so i undo the nut underneath the plastic cover.... now the sodding thing wont come off!!!! grrrrrrr....

Rear wiper? Lift the little plastic thingy and turn the nut? Haha! Good luck! I had a clio and some little rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish in Sunderland snapped off my wiper arm! I tried to undo the nut and was really worried about buggering the wiper motor, but after a while I just thought sod it and got a big long bar, put it on the end of my spanner and used the torque to spin it off!

Didn't break anything either!

ive got the nuts off no problems.... just the arms wont budge....

try levering it off with the open end of the spanner... they can be a swine to move as they corrode up... either that or the trusty old WD40...

When you get the wiper arms off - they'll be on a splined jobby.... if you want to get them off again (you probably won't but it's always useful) put a bit of copper-slip on the hole in the arm and the splined shaft. They'll go on easier for a start, and they'll come off again cos they won't corrode up. Do the same with the nuts too. Copper-slip/grease is the best stuff around. Every single nut and bolt on my car has copper-slip on it. Makes it so much easier to get apart (and put back together) when you need to - espesh if you've been running around in puddles, or salty, wintry, British-type roads....

Oh yes! I forgot about the actual yanking the arm off once the nut's off! Took me a while and a couple of small dents too!

job successful though... no dents... only 5 minutes too and a couple of hours for the paint to dry.
