I tried XR2i, Astra GTE, and Renault 5 Turbo, and they all seem to be getting scarce, yet none of them are really classics. Of course, the stupid scrappage scheme took a lot of the classics that people were holding on to. Lots of nice cars converted to fridges with that idea..

I've got 1 of only 49, mine's 1976 sorned, I'm the 2nd owner, can't drive it now, been off the road for 7 years.
Only 7 Matra Bagheeras left.
Mind you, the wikipedia entry does say that it suffered from appalling build quality which I can confirm from my short period of ownership.
