Maria de Vilotta injured at Duxford testing the Marussia car

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...shire-18685789

By all accounts she was testing the Marussia (was Virgin) car and somehow smacked it into the team's truck.

My thoughts and hopes go out to her in the hospital.... poor lass.

can;t find out what really happened.. seems like a wild throttle opening... but seems diverse.

As mechanics approached to wheel the car back for service, it accelerated forwards and crashed into the stationary vehicle parked nearby.

It wasn't just that it was a truck.. she hit the loading platform at head height:

    (bbc)

Her injuries are life threatening as it is, but she could have easily been decapitated - a few years ago before the higher sided cockpits that would have been almost certain.
