    need some advice

bought a clutch kit from carparts4less (ECP outlet)

problem was when it arrived it was incorrect - the thrust release bearing was for another car!
so they sent a replacement on 1st september

had the clutch kit fitted the day after and all was fine but

as of last week the thrust release bearing is now noisy - its getting worse !

where do I go from here? it`ll cost me to have the clutch kit replaced *again* and I do believe the part is faulty

    What are the warranty terms?

Iirc, and with the caveat that I am not a lawyer...

If it is under six months old, the onus is on the supplier to prove that it wasn't faulty, although they may claim it was fitted incorrectly.

If it is over six months, you may have a harder problem. But in either event, you may find that their liability is limited to the part, not any consequential loss, so you may still end up having to pay for it to be replaced.

But it all depends on the small print in the contract.

It's one of those occasions where it might have been better to have a single source to supply and fit, then it is clear where liability lies, and replace, ent would usually include labour as well. I guess in this case, the labour cost would exceed the value of the thrust bearing.

In addition to the above, they might refer the part to the manufacturer and get them to ascertain whether it was faulty or not.
Start by contacting them, possibly with photos of the part and see what they say.

How much do you trust your mechanic/fitter?

    Re: need some advice

he said to me he wasn't sure about the part - especially since it was from ECP

currently its still in situ (cost at replacing it all)
