Looking for some help, please :)

I have 2011 (not so) Limited Edition Corsa 1.2 just about 36000 miles on the clock

This morning while driving to work, in second gear as I accelerated to 2K RPM and about to change gear the car got all juddery (even a word?) for a few seconds, stopped in traffic as I set off again, got to 2K revs the same thing happened (both times going from second to third). The next time I was going from 2nd to 3rd I held the clutch in a bit longer and let the revs go to a little over 2k and all seemed fine, for all gear changes afterwards.

Fast forward to this evening, driving home, I went to accelerate, car got all juddery, I was accelerating up a hill so thought I was in the wrong gear, however when I dropped a gear the juddering remained, again I held the clutch in, revs over 2k and it seemed fine, except the engine management light flashed a few times then went off. After this the next gear change it was fine again and was so for the 30 or so minutes until I got home.

I have about as much mechanical knowledge as there is the chance of pleasant smell being present in a male changing room. Any help from you more mechanical types would be greatly appreciated.

    P.S - No I was not speeding!

    TLR

    Morning
Driving got to 2k revs - car judder
Hold clutch, rev over 2k - judder goes - car fine

    Evening
Driving, 2k revs - car judder - EML briefly
Hold clutch, rev over 2k - judder goes - seems fine

    E! - Added TLR

Sounds like you may have a clutch on the way out... Especially as it was happening going up hill (more load on the clutch plate)

Need more specifics on the juddering.

Did you also lose power when it happened?

This, combined with the engine management light I'd guess its more likely a misfire of some description rather than a clutch. When was it last serviced? If it is that, you might be lucky and theres just a plug/lead needs fettling. Assuming its still in warranty I'd have vauxhall throw it on a diagnostics machine (which they should do FOC if its an engine management thing).

I would agree with this. If your car has only done 36000 miles i wouldnt have thought it would be the clutch myself but more a misfire issue. I would take it to a garage and get it plugged in and tested though.

Buy an elm327 odb2 dongle and use torque on Android to read the codes. It will tell you what sensors have tipped the ecu and you can look up the codes to give you a better idea.

Given his claimed lack of mechanical knowledge, probably best to just put that money towards paying a mechanic who hopefully will have the right software to read it accurately (generic code readers are a bit rough) . Misfire under load could be all sorts of things, but I would get it looked at soon. If the fuel air mix is wrong, that can cause damage to the cat converter and they aren't cheap.

Re: Looking for some help, please :)

I had something like this happen to my Corsa 1.4 SRI it turned out to be the coil pack.
These seem to be a common thing with Corsa's, They replaced mine under warranty, so try giving them a knock.

Plus I got my spark plugs replaced, I'm not sure if Spark P and Coil P are related?

Had this on my Corsa and Astra.

Trying to get it booked in at places this weekend so hopefully get a reply.

I had initially thought coil pack (based on a conversation I remember having with a mate a while ago)

A dongle costs about 6 quid and the free version of torque does what you need.
