Unhappy Insurance set for biggest rise since 2011 next year

According to this: <removed> Insurance is going up by at least £30 for each driver apparently in the UK.

Just wondering besides the ones used in the article, does anyone know of any more tips on how to keep your insurance down?

Re: Insurance set for biggest rise since 2011 next year

insurers have been struggling to cover the rising costs of claims
1/. Insurers have deals between them that they will keep their claims as low as possible. I am related (in-law) to one of the people who sorts out such deals, so I know this does happen.
2/. Much of this is BS claims, like severe whiplash, severe trauma and severe depression from a 7mph prang...

The more often you drive, the more likely you are to have an accident.
Actually, shorter drives means staying closer to home on your local roads... which is where accidents happen more often, as people think they know them and get complacent, thus missing the hazards that don't normally occur.
Also, the less often you drive, the more your perishable skill perishes.

    Shop around
Yes, but don't end it there. Take the comparison quotes with you and see if there's any difference when you go companies direct. Then go back and forth, seeing if another company can do better.

The insurance companies keep saying this every few years. It's their way of getting gullible people to accept rate rises without grumbling or looking elsewhere.

Mine drops every year (after hunting around quickly and giving Chris Knott my findings).

Currently £500 a year for both of our cars combined, Integra and a Yaris

    1. Drive from A to C but always avoid B
    2. Drive backwards at 30mphs
    3. Throw salt over your shoulder before you get into the Car
    4. Put Car slippers on your Car, that way you wear out the Roads less saving you much money.

Should save you loads of money on the car insurance LOL, Don't smack me plz!! I got it off an old email
