Peugeot 306 Electric Windows and Central locking problem

    Hi Newbie here,

Has anyone had this happen to them or know of a whay to sort this
    problem out:

I closed the drivers door on my 306 last night and then went to lock it
with the key remote, the locks all went down and then popped back up.
Tried several time but same thing. in the end I had to hold the locks
down from an open rear door and they locked. Was driving this morning
and went to open the drivers window and nothing, nor the passengers
    window.

    Can somebody help.

    Cheers

    306 central locking problem

Hi, I have just recently started to have the same problem.

Have you managed to find a solution to the problem? If you have can you let me know.

    Cheers.

    Hi Guys,

I've got an aging 306 I inherited from by Brother, unfortunately they're a bit prone to Elecrical problems as they age. It had exactly this problem with the central locking (although the windows are fine).

On mine we pulled out the fuses for the Central locking, and just lock the doors manually. It's a hassle but at least they're locked. The alarm's also had it's fuse removed as one of the door's sensors is dodgy (possibly also the cause of the central locking failing).

I'd recommend a Haynes manual and pull some fuses for a quick fix Sorry!
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.

We had a 93 model (L-plate) and the exact same thing happened with the central locking and electric windows. Had half the wiring loom changed which didn't fix anything, and then the whole wiring look, which also didn't fix anything. The electric window problem was solved with replacing the electric window motors, and the central locking problem was fixed by changing all the lock motor things and the control board thing which lives above the rear view mirror. Thank god the garage were paying for the work to be done.

I put it down to the fact that French electronics are ****e.

I dont know if you guys have sorted this issue already, but I thought I'd post anyway just in case you havent!

Sometimes on cars that have been around a few years, the rubber seal on the window splits in places causing water to leak in. As the elecrics are in the door this can sometimes cause a short, and when the window switch is operated the short occurs it blows the fuse, its quite common in VW Passats apparently, sounds like your having the same issue.

Not sure if its the same situation with the door locks though... :-S

    problem with central locking

Problem could be in main connection block on drivers door, wiring inside main connecting block burns out due to door being opened and closed. This block controls locks, windows etc.can be replaced just had mine sorted, not dear.hope this helps.

I had this issue when I had a 306 a few years back - car was only a few months old and it would happen usually in the winter on damp days. As it was under warranty the dealer changed the electrics in the doors.

Re: Peugeot 306 Electric Windows and Central locking problem

Before the locks will all slide home after being activated by the key fob, the sensors on each door must tell the system every door is closed. Leave a door open on a car with a good working central locking system and this is precisely what happens.

So check the sensors on each door, they're usually switches which, as Jon A pointed out, are prone to damage from water ingress.
