Unhappy SEAT pulling out of BTCC!

Looks like there will only be Vauxhall left as a full on factory backed team, all the other teams now are independent from manufacturers. Shame as the SEAT's were vauxhalls only real competition. With Seat gone, do you think VX will stick around as there is no point in them going out and wasting the money to compete with no one.

Bad news that, I must say I was a massive touring car fan until this year. It just seems so boring, and I think a massive blow to the series was being demoted to the odd weekend on ITV4. To be honest, I think the series may fold in the next few years if VXR pulled out too. They need to secure a couple of other manufacturers to replace SEAT.

They surely cant blame the credit crunch, there running diesels ffs! LOL

Re: SEAT pulling out of BTCC!

Well considering people think this is the more exciting racing it seems somewhat ironic that we've ended up with a series that has been dying for years. I was a regular attender to most races of the season back in 95/96 series when we had Volvo, BMW, AUDI, Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot and Honda.

That blows the current series away. I'm not suprised to hear its going to lose another sponsor. As enjoyable as the racing is, for it to have creditability like the other european tours it needs manufacturers.

The same problem that worries me in F1 when we lost one of the 11 teams, If teams drop out then it just has the effect of wearing away at the fanbase of the different supporters and that only continues the problem.

A thriving series should be having people at the door queuing to get in.
