    Hiya

What provider are you with? My bold is free (on a corporate contract) with BT so not so sure on the different packages etc as i never see the bill. I would imagine wifi should be free on any package though? I can understand using 3G under a "cost package" for data use but if using wifi on your own network or free provision cant see how this can be charged?

I had to do same as you did, so Manage connections->Set up wifi Network and then the green tick appears on wifi, under the ticked Mobile network.

Even though you do not have a green tick do you have the official WIFI logo in top right corner on home screen? Once set up it should auto sense different wireless sources depending where you are and switch accordingly. What firmware are you on?

    Firmware

Before downloading/installing anything better check with 02 which firmware they recommend? You may even have a later one anyway,

If you go to options>About Will show you what you are enabled for and the current firmware on your bold.

    Eg i have....

    ------------
    Blackberry 9000
    Smartphone (3G. WiFi)
    v4.6.0.162 (platform 4.0.0.155)
    ------------

I dont think this is the latest firmware but is the one we have as current live one. Check to see that it shows the (wifi) as above.

Cant imagine you would have to pay to use your own home broadband over wifi, sure will be a simple explanation.

    Best of luck
