    ASUS M2N32-WS Professional fan

I am surprised to see a fan on the M2N32-WS considering most people want quiet computers. I am not a fan (no pun intended) of small screaming fans. I really wish they could of found a way to use a heatsink. I did notice that it is inline with the PCI express slot and maybe a big heatsink would of been necessary and the only option was the little fan so it would not block any cards.

Hopefully it has a low decibal rating. Otherwise, it looks like Asus has a lot to offer. BTW, I am impressed with the number of SATA connectors (I counted 9).

Cant wait to see some specs.

    [GSV]Trig's system
Its a pro board so I'm guessing it's aimed at the top end/overclocker crowd in which case a screaming fan isnt going to be heard over the CPU fan

    YorkieBen's system
its a professional board, and it has pci-x slots - probably not a mainstream board tbh, as even high end boards dont use pci-x slots. Its like the nforce4 pro chipset now

Some great looking boards, seems as if ASUS are leading the way once again.

Just to update, I am interested in getting some replacement kit for my aging server (AMD K6/3 350 MHz with 386 MB RAM!) that has run constantly for the past 8 years or so.

I was interested in something a little speedier (!) but wanted the MB to include dual 1Git LAN ports and more importantly SATA II RAID that supported RAID 5. In my search I came across the M2N32 WS Professional board and then this thread. I believe now that this board has heat pipe technology.

It still might be overkill for what I want or need, the server isn’t exactly stressed.
