Alienware's curved monitor is a gaming dream

Forgot those triple screen setups you may have seen before. Alienware has a prototype curved DLP display that'll have gamers drooling away.

I think I just creamed my pants

    That is a gorgous monitor

Have a feeling it will have a great price as well lol.

Wonder how many games will take use of it as well?

That is a brilliant monitor, I actually can't see the seams from that photo.

Re: Alienware's curved monitor is a gaming dream

Oooh very nice, probably a little impractical for games like CS:S, but I would love to play something like Crysis on it.

Hmmm, I think I can see the seams, don't think it's the lighting, because they seem evenly spaced out, or maybe my brain is fooling me, because I'm expecting to see them?

Want, would be even better for 3D/Film/media work. I have 2 screens at the moment already and it's cluttered enough.

looks great - but would be cheaper to buy 6/7 normal screens at the moment.

looks nice, but i suppose you can get a 720p hdtv thats bigger (probably not wider) than that for less. wouldnt need a stonking powerful card as the res would be 1366 x 768.

    That's what I thought - a Dell 30" @ 2560 x 1600 has way more pixels.

It would look horrible up close though, and you still wouldn't get the surround effect since it would only be widescreen, whereas this is effectively two (small) widescreen monitors put next to each other.

0.2 millisecond response time? That's obscene, that's just taking the millisecond myth too far.

thats why you sit far away from it
but yes ugly up close. I think im not fazed by it because I just switched to a nice lcd screen. I'm still waiting on SED's which I thought was coming out soon but doesn't look like it.
