Which case corsair 450d or fractal R4?

I'm getting a new case but which one? I have limited room 23cm wide by 50cm deep. So I'm looking at these two. The 450d looks to have good air flow and running an R9 290 I need that. But the fractal design looks good. I really like the nxzt h440 but not 5.25" bay is a deal breaker.
Any thoughts on the best case for my size constraints would be welcome.
Using an atx mobo and a corsair h100i cooler.

I have the R4, superb case. 4x 140mm fans, + 1x 120mm rear fan. I can't imagine the 450D has better air flow than that. Also port and button placement is optimal, and overall it gives a good balance of nosie, tool-less access and great air flow. Can't see my changing it for a long time.

Not to mention the fact that Ebuyer currently have the white version of the R4 for just £59.99 delivered.

Re: Which case corsair 450d or fractal R4?

I have built with both the R4 and the Nanoxia Deep Silence (v1). That's a really good price for the White R4.

They are both really nice cases and very quiet because of the dampening material. The R4 was nicer to work with because it's wider and has plenty of space for cables behind the mobo while the Deep Silence is a bit narrower.

However, if the OP's dimensions are absolute the R4 might not fit as it's 234mm wide. While the Deep Silence v1 was narrower the later v2 are 232mm.

No experience of the Corsair. It seems to be designed for max airflow (although no 200mm which is what I think a high airflow case should have) so it is probably a lot louder.

I have the r4 and a h100i. The case overall is fantastic, for £60 you can't go wrong with it. The only problem I had was with the mounting of the 100i.
The cpu power will not allow me to mount the 100i on the 120mm fan holes so it is not symmetrical to the other fan wholes where it fit like a dream. Other than that its a great case and well worth the money.
You might want to try and measure your heatsink on your motherboard as this can become an issue when installing

Is the tubing of the H100 long enough to reach the front fan mounts?

If it is, one should easily be able to remove both 3.5" drive cages and mount the H100 in a push/pull (4) fan configuration there. The HDD/SSD would obviously have to be banished into one of the 5.25" bays in that case.

I believe it can but I am not sure if it requires any modification. What I also found was it is much easier to mount the cooler with the fans in pull rather than push.

Fractal made video about mounting large rads in the front of the case.

    Could you elaborate?
Did you manage to get the H100i to fit at the top or will if fit at the front?

Nah. Windows let more sound out. Also I'm more of the plain monolith type.

Can we have pics of the install and a count of how many swear words you yelled at the case during the installation of the H100 please?

Heh I'm tossing up whether to put a 105 in the front. Apparently it will fit in the top as well... We shall see

Re: Which case corsair 450d or fractal R4?

It will be cutting it close with the 105 in the top, it all depends on the clearance of ram, motherboard heatsinks. My cpu power is restricting me from fitting the 100i in the 120mm holes as it wont budge and I cba to re cable manage it.
