Cosmos S build Finally got got round to building a new machine. My last build was roughly 4-5 years back so its been long overdue. Pile of parts: ![]() Parts list: Case: Coolermaster Cosmos S Mobo: DFI LT X48-T2R CPU: Q6600 G0 / Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme / Scythe Ultra Kaze GFX: EVGA 9800GTX RAM: 4GB OCZ 6400 PSU: Corsair HX620 HD: Samsung F1 750 Tons of space inside. This case is huge, easily the biggest case I have had. Side panels are easy to take off but make a loud snapping noise so quite scary the first few times. ![]() Huge bunch of cables for all the front panel connections. The cable management round the back has been improved on since the cosmos 1000. The vertical bar has been removed so that more cables can be routed round the back. ![]() The top holes are still blocked by a bar though and the side holes are a bit far away if you aren't using an extended atx size board.

Re: Cosmos S build A little later with the help of some power tools... new holes for the PSU connections to motherboard. ![]() Getting the mobo ready to go in the case. Getting those fan holder brackets to hold the fan onto the TRUE was by far the most fiddly process. ![]() Everything in and wired up. ![]() The back is still a mess as I cant get the panel on yet. Need an extension cable still, so i'll tidy it all up later. ![]()

Re: Cosmos S build With the side panel on, the TRUE is just touching the side fan. Luckily the fin is already bending in so doesn't get bent much more than it already is. ![]() Day shot: ![]() Night shot: ![]() Build almost complete now, just need to get a couple of cables and then tidy everything up with some zip ties. Installed Vista64 and everything seems to be running fine. Took me a few days to get used to using vista but haven't had any issues with software so far. I thought I was having issues with the wifi adapter but it turned out a router reboot sorted everything out. Haven't totalled up the cost yet but all in all I'm happy with my new build, cant wait to get back into some gaming and get started on some 3D work. To do list: Get the extension cable so I can put the panels back on Get a bit of light overclocking on Fan controller, the Kaze is the loudest thing in the system

Re: Cosmos S build theres no pleasing someI wasnt going to have lights originally as my old build was a light fest and lit up half my room at night. The red fan came with the case and isnt too bright so I kept it in, works out ok as the top panel is lit up red as well.
