Yes, the cat's alive, she just always thinks she needs to be on my desk when I'm trying to do something.

And the stuffed hamster was a gift from one of my friends.

Here's my desk at work. Note the 21 inch monitor Problem is, I get used to working on it all day, then I come home to my 17 inch and it messes me up, so now I have to get a 21 incher for home.

Or at least, that's how I rationalize it to myself.

We have the same desk, cool ALthough I lost my drawer when it was removed to make space for a hulking great tower (now defunct).

Paradiddle, how do you like the Coolermaster keyboard? It took some getting used to for me, as it was smaller than my old keyboard, but I love it now. The strange thing is, it's lengthened my boot time by a good 30 seconds.

i personally think there is something dodgy goin on with the cm keyboard. i sometimes have the problem of windows not booting, then when i unplug the keyboard, it then boots up properly.

very strange. i think its my mobo settings.

    What mobo do you have?

I think it could have something to do with the system searching for USB devices, but I'm not sure.

Here's the corner I'm forced into in the study whilst at home. My laptop lives in my room but there's no way I could fit my CRT in there without taking over most of the floorspace with a big enough desk! I may redo these photos when I've got some better light as the flash of the camera makes things look a bit washed out.

    Click for larger images.

My hole. On the table there's my main rig inside my Coolermaster 210, Sony G400 19" CRT, MS Optical mouse and my Sony Ericsson P900. Far left on the floor there's a Yamaha 200w subwoofer next to my old rig inside a £10 Ebuyer case (actually a very nice case). On the little table thing there's a Kef Q95C centre speaker and to the left of that there's a single-slice Acorn RiscPC600 underneath a double-slice SA Risc PC. On top of those there's a Denon 1601 AV-Receiver and the Dell £10 colour printer recently featured on these forums. Atop the filing cabinet there's a Kef Cresta2 speaker with an ATi Remote Wonder and hifi remote on top.

Closer view of the desk, showing the as-yet unstealthed/unsprayed floppy drive and also my home-brew push-button baybus that's missing the front panel as it doesn't fit the new case and a button front that's fallen off. I've got plans for a hinge-down push-click style stealth mod for the whole 3.5" area.

    The de-facto stealthed NEC 2510 DVD-RW.

Inside shot showing need for some rounded IDE/FDD cables and power cable braiding. There's an NF7S-v2 under all that, with a Taisol 760 HSF topped with a Panaflo 80mm fan, a Zalman silent northbridge, an Arctic Cooling equipped 9500->9700 running at 410/630, and WLAN, 10/100 card and TV-tuner/capture PCI cards.
