    News - Intel goes beyond 5GHz with air-cooled Core i7 975 EE

Ridiculously expensive, but it's a mighty fine overclocker.

    That it?
Not the speed I mean the article.....

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

its bull, unless they show it runnin 100% on all cores then they have not broken the 5ghz mark, anyone can boot with faster clocks than the CPU can cope with, but as soon as you load it up it will lock or crash.

5ghz stable would be nice, i bet they cant do that.

5Ghz on the dearest part hardly seems an achievment tbh. The real accolades should got to those running 920's at 4+Ghz etc.

Nah, I had mine running at 4Ghz inside 20 minutes of getting a big cooler with no problems. I have backed it off to 3.6 for normal running though because I got nervous about the 1.38+ volts that I was feeding it. I am still in the process of bring the CPU voltage down gradually. Currently sitting at 1.25. Once I have got that sorted I might have another go at winding it up but taking a bit more care and time than I did last time. Also wait until after a LAN party that is happening soon. Don't want to break it before that
