Computex 2006 - Taipei : New Intel integrated graphics named?
With Intel's 965 core logic unveiled officially today, from the heady heights of the Taipei 101 no less, boards sporting the various incarnations of 965 are absolutely everywhere at Computex...but it seems one manufacturer is willing to name names, find out more here.

A pretty board no doubt.
Is this a reference design(ish)? Ideally, I think I'd like the top PCIe x1 to be PCI, for my X-Fi, Pre-N and TV cards to fit, but we can't have it all .Incidentally, any reason why they've gone for a 20pin ATX connector? Seems strange that with the ICH8, they've phased out 'old' tech like IDE. Fine, I can live with that, but kept the floppy port, and chucked a 20pin connector on

It really does have a 24pin + 8pin connector just with a blanking caps installed in the end four ports of each connector by default at least that is what the PCB shots show.
Now what on earth is with the second physical PCIe x16 slot which only operates in x4 mode and only when none of the x1 slots are occupied. The intel chipset specifications rather explictly claim that the x16 link from the P965 MCH can not be split into two x8 links so I would assume that limitation carries over to G965 and it appears crossfire is not supported this time round either Actually why bother with two physical x16 PCIe slots at all on a integrated graphics mainboard it is not as if you would buy one for crossfire which isn't supported anyhow or that ageia phsyx boards are that popular, are they?
