    Exactly.

And I don't want to say too much before I've played it, but - Halo3 is not perfect.

Single player too short? BioShock looks better? And yet its still perfect.

Riiiiight. Remind me not to trust Eurogamer reviews.

    And? Gameplay, Gameplay, Gameplay.

Stop whinging on about other games looking better, its doesn't matter if X,Y,Z looks better. You more than anyone should be willing to accept that gfx don't make a game.

Bioshock looks better, but then after 10 hours you're left with nothing to do but scratch your balls and head over to put it on ebay.

The point is, if it has faults, such as the single player being too short, etc, then it can't be perfect, can it?

Now repeat that back to me, I want to make sure you understand.

Also, if Halo3 plays anything like Halo2 or Halo (and from the reviews it plays exactly like them) then the gameplay is hardly something to shout about.

    Do you see?

    Re: Halo 3 review

perhaps.... 10 out of 10 isn't a detailed enough scale. Perhaps it woiuld get 95% or 96% but it's rounded up to 10/10?

Back in the good old days of Sega News and other such game magazines, the scores were done as percentages!

    My System: Coolermaster Centurion 5 (black) case, Intel E6750 Core2Duo, Tagan Easy-Con 530W, Asus P5B Deluxe WIFI, OCZ 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC, Samsung SpinPoint 200Gb SATA2 / 2 x Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200Gb SATA, 256Mb Sapphire ATI PCI-E X1950PRO, Creative X-Fi Xtreme 7.1, 19" Daewoo W9ZQ Black Widescreen TFT, 4Mb Virgin Cable Broadband (formerly Blueyonder) with Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G and DD-WRT firmware.

Ah, but just think of the fun that will ensue if another game comes along soon that's BETTER than Halo 3. What will they give it? 11/10? 10*/10? A/10? Spooge/10?

    Re: Halo 3 review

I think quite a few are missing the point with the Halo franchise, its never stood up to be a world changing game and thats some thing that has been said by the developers many a time. What it does (easily playable, good multiplayer and engrossing campaign) it does very well.

And as for graphics its hard to make an old IP look significantly better without taking in a new direction. And graphics do not maketh the game anyway, well not for me anyway.

I get what your saying, but nowadays there are so many games that get high marks, but they still have their faults. Bioshock doesn't have MP, once you've beaten one Big Daddy, they are all the same (so i've read). But such faults are so minor that they can live with them.

I'll be the first to admit that Halo, Halo 2 had their faults, repetitive, short, in single player. but Halo wasn't just about the single player, its the MP side that kept me playing the game. I was lucky to play Halo with 12 people, great fun, Halo 2 bought that online. Now Halo 3 introduces 4 player Co-op over LIVE.

At the moment there's only one review that means anything to me. EDGE. I'll be interested to see what they have to say, they will pick holes in it, and give it a fair review.

    Re: Halo 3 review

... Does it matter what the exact scores on-line pubs give games? Doesn't to me personally. They provide a guide, Metacritic will provide an indication and I use my judgement to dictate a purchase. I bet Halo 3 isn't perfect - if it was perfect MasterCheif would be called Master-noTHINGface and his balls would be external to the MOLIJOBBY space suit, coloured purple and scream 'Wulbash!' at passing enemies. But, it has positive reviews so I may buy it anyway.

    Re: Halo 3 review

May pick it up at lunch tomorrow if I can get out of the office... Not enough time to play it though - the missus has banned all 360 activity until I swear on my dead hamsters wig not to play the excellent Space Giraffe when any form of reality TV is available on any of the 1400 channels of crap that Virgin beam into the house.
