    Question What happened to idea of DS and Wii game demos via the Wii Internet Channel

    Stumbled across an old article here at Hexus and then after a little google, news had broken out that soon (1 year ago) a demo channel would be available for the Wii for download demos to the DS and hopefully the Wii....

    An image is even available of the demo channel icon, or is this another photoshopped thing....

    HEXUS.gaming - Headline :: Wii demo downloads whilst you sleep : Page - 1/1
    Users would wake up each morning, find the LED lamp on their Wii flashing, and know that Nintendo has sent them something. They would then be able to download the promotional demo from their Wii's to their Nintendo DS's.

    When I saw the Metroid 3 channel in the Wii shop I thought it was a playable demo! Turned out to just be a crappy collection of videos and stuff

    Not sure about playable demos of big-budget games, but Nintendo announced that some indy games would be appearing for free/small charge on the VC Wiiware channel (simliar to Xbox Live Arcade, I think).

    Re: What happened to idea of DS and Wii game demos via the Wii Internet Channel

    Was sooo disappointed with the Metroid 3 "channel" - just a cheap advert in a youtube stylee.

    I also remember the idea ofthe Wii becoming a DS demo station.
    All in all a bit disappointing, it wouldnt cost nintendo much and would really broaden the appeal of the brand.

    Re: What happened to idea of DS and Wii game demos via the Wii Internet Channel

    They have just rolled out the 'Everybodys Nintendo' channel in Japan which offers DS demo downloads through the Wii, it also offers videos and information on release dates. They haven't announced yet when it will come to Europe but it will happen one day, probably in a few months.
    I was also a bit disappointed with the Metroid channel as well so lets hope this will be better.
