PS3 - so what are the must haves

    Hi,
The triathlon season is over, and I'm firing up my PS3 instead of getting up at WTF o'clock to go out exercising. I enjoyed Uncharted 1-3 and am working my way through 'The Last Of Us', but what else is worth a look?

I prefer 3rd person/beat em up/shoot em ups on a console. FPS/RTS are best with a keyboard and mouse IMO.

    Recommendations?

    Cheers.....

Red Dead was pretty good. Stopped playing for a while pretty close to the end then could get back into it because it got pretty difficult! Controls are a bit crazy (riding a horse trying to shoot someone following you) but you get used to them and still great fun. Nice story and lots to keep you busy.

Re: PS3 - so what are the must haves

A quick google tells me that Dungeon Siege 3 is available on PS3 - really fun 3rd person console RPG (I've been playing it on PC but it's much more fun played with a controller than with keyboard/mouse). Unless you hate the franchise the Batman games are meant to be pretty good too (much to my shame, I haven't got round to playing them yet).

Obviously GTA V but if you haven't played the ratched and clank games, you are missing out ona proper treat.

Red dead was amazing! So much to do on it, and the online multiplayer was decent too which is always a bonus

I too, must recommend Red Dead.
I'd also recommend the first infamous. Moral choice stuff doesnt really work, but if you ignore that its a fun little open world superhero game with a decent story. I'm also obliged to recommend Dark Souls, though its initial difficulty and opaqueness put me off at first, on my third attempt I really got into it and its now one of my favourite games.

Lego games. Pretty much all of them, with honourable mention to the two Harry Potter games

Re: PS3 - so what are the must haves

    Red Dead Redemption
Resistance 3 (CRIMINALLY underrated game. I usually avoid fps' on console but this is truly a gem in the game play front)
Bayonetta (one of the best character action games out there)
    Demon Souls

Re: PS3 - so what are the must haves

I'd echo that you are already playing some of the best and Red Dead is an amazing game; but as you mentioned you like 3rd person shooters - There are a couple of under rated cover shooters you should be able to pick up for peanuts that I think you'd enjoy. Spec Ops: The Line and Binary Domain. The story is nothing special on the latter but they are both worthy time sinks imo

if you then need a game... to really appreciate the size of the projection screen...

    Tomb Raider 2013

the sense of height is dizzying!
