Best Xbone package?

Fellow Hexites, my son (who's 9) is after an Xbone for Xmas. He wants to play Halo and the Lego games. What's the best current deal out there? Is kinnect worth having, or is it still a bit of a novelty thing?

We have 3 Xbox one's in the house, none of them have kinect, it's good for a family room, not so much for the bedroom/play room.

Without wanting to be that guy - have you played halo (or even seen the lets plays?) I wouldn't let a 9 year old at it.

No. Is it more adult than previous ones? I checked out the one he's played on the 360 before he was allowed to play it. Does this one have a lot of bad language/gore?

We picked up the one with Oni & The Blind Forest (Digital code in box) and it came with a disc based Rare Replay which would be right up his street with it having all the old Ultimate Speccy Classics as well as Banjo & Kazooie & Viva Pinata.

Maybe look at Destiny rather than HALO if he is wanting a shooter, feels a bit more toned down. I know exactly where you are coming from though as my 14yr old son is after Black Ops 3, I said no with it being 18 but he pitched a fit to his mam saying he watches it on Youtube and live streams and a load of his friends also have it so she allowed him to have it to stop the battles.

All kids are different, but its a lot more so than the older ones based on what I've seen. My nephew (10) would have nightmares for weeks.
