with macro lenses, if you want more DoF you have to do something called stacking - which involves taking multiple photos of the same thing but at differnt focal points and then you put them all together to get a higher DoF

Put it simply, set camera up on tripod, focus on subject, then change focal points to cover all the points you want to be sharp. Then combine the pics, I use a software called CZM i think, I need to find something easier to use. And keeping the camera perfectly still so the pics come out similarly is a challenge itself

A 7 Legged spider I found in my bath, popped him in the frezere for 2 mins to slow him down
A can of deodorant err in use
F/22 Iso 200 1/200th of a second on my 350D with the plastic fantastic and 2 kenko tubes (cant remember sizes:s), used the on camera flash as i haven't got a decent one yet henc the lens shadow
Edit: Oh and the camera balanced on a pint glass (empty) as I needed a hand free to press the nozzle down
