    Freeview HD PVR

Getting right confused with all this DVB-T/T2/TS mullarky, especially since it looks like we Brits can't do anything simple and have changed the spec for HDTV transmission so tuners what work on the continent may not work here...

I've been searching for an all in one unit that will record off my V+ box and play media from a network over Wifi. The best I've found is the Sumvision Cyclone HD2, which alas has a tuner suffering from the above problem - i.e. it looks like it won't work in the UK, and I think it's a hardware issue so no magical firmware fix. One thing in it's favour, is a very good price for the feature list!

I hope I'm wrong, because I've given up trying to find something better and am about to order a 500GB version, but if anyone has any recommendations, I'm all ears!

If you want to record off your V+ box, you don't need any kind of DVB tuner at all, just an analogue video input (S-Video or composite is most likely).

'Tis true, but if I'm gonna buy a box I want to future proof it for as long as possible.
