What did you replace them with, heinsmit? I have the same experience of cheap ones that break.

The headphones(hands free kit) that came with my samsung galaxy s4 has actually been my longest lasting in a long time, they are almost black in places from wear (TMI, sorry) and I treat them pretty abysmally, but they have survived well over two years of my abuse.

Re: Earphones keep breaking after a few months of use

I've had multiple pairs of Shure over the years and they have replaceable cables and the sound quality is simply out of this world compared to the likes of Sennheiser etc.

The downside is they don't do too well if you're a sweaty runner like me, moisture eventually corrodes them which is a shame.

I recently switched to the Soundmagic E30 after reading many, many positive reviews and quite frankly I'm over the moon at the quality. I'm accustomed to paying £150+ for quality headphones so at 40 quid I was skeptical but they really are very good. Easily on an audio par with say, Shure SE215 and they're rated as moisture proof with dozens of good reviews by runners.

Any recommendations on the cheaper end? Say like £15-20?

even with soundmagic the amount of them that break is scary enough for me to avoid them

I've always found Sennheiser to have a really good returns policy, even replacing items out of warranty for free. Have you tried returning them to the retailer or Sennheiser?

On your new pair, it might be worth hotgluing a spring over the cable onto the jack, this prevent the cable bending at the jack. Some headphones/earphones have this already, eg. ATH-M50.
