I'd recommend going for the Sennheiser's!
I'd recommend going for the Sennheiser's!
I would assume that the OP has already made the decision, but I will go with the "Try and decide for yourself crowd".
Sennheiser is a trusted brand, but how many people recommending the Sennheiser has actually tried the actual model in question?
Liking one model doesn't guarantee liking another, while the HD580 and HD600 are pretty similar, the HD650 sounds very different.
I am reluctant to make any suggestions between those two headphones having not heard either.
That said, the consensus is seem to be that the K702 is much the same as the K701 with a detachable cable (same driver etc.). I liked the K701 over the K501. And the K501 over the 3 aforementioned Sennheiser.
I also think is K701 is great for classical. Personally I found them to be pretty neutral (similar to the Senn HD600 / Beyerdynamic DT880) but with the widest soundstage and "air" of the lot. Orchestral sound great. For lively I turn to Grados...
You may take a look at AKG 612 pro, very similar to 702 (but no detachable cable), nice headband and better price
try a pair of sony mdr-v150 for £12, they laugh at most headphones especially beats by dry
sony mdr-v150`s have handle loud sub bass and keep a clean 48khz ASIO sound
failing those some of the best headphones are in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsocvqgWBcA
it depends on how cheap they are, DJ headphones have to have superior isolation so you can hear the track your are curing up, with a 90,000 db system in a bassment
if they are cheap, they will clamp to your ears alot harder, but you have the bonus of being able to buy new leads etc when you plug them into a amp and burn them out or sit on them for too long on a plane
then DJ headphones still have to have all HZ ranges sounding good at all volumes so you can EQ the next track for the mix
Wrong.
I had an expensive set of gaming headphones, designed to block out as much external sound as possible and give me that "immersive" experience, however I found that after extended use they would begin to hurt, yet ive used cheaper headphones that weren't in any way special that after a full day of wearing them, they didn't hurt in the slightest.
That is the final straw. I have entertained the notion of trying to correct you on this statement for a few hours but I've just decided I won't.
Thankfully the OP will have long made his mind up and will ignore this advice.
Also, the headphones weren't just not in the same league as the OP's they were in a different universe. Size, type, use scenario, cost, quality.
It's like comparing apples to a bike.
Sony do some great headphones though your suggestion was pants.
